Our story
Welcome to Los Angeles, CA based COOK – Community Outreach Opportunity Kitchen. We’re on a mission to inspire folks to eat seasonally, support local farmers, businesses, and connect with community through food. Join us for monthly farm to table dinners, cooking lessons, and private catering.
Lainie (she/her) is the founder and head chef of COOK. She has worked in restaurant tech, regenerative agriculture, farmers markets, wellness, and is currently a private chef and teaches yoga. Sourcing is important to her because it creates connection to our environment, farmers, and local economies. She is passionate about creating and sharing seasonal recipes and encouraging connection with food and farmers. You can find recipes and more @lainiefood.
Sous chef Dom (she/they) is a home cook from Arlington, VA. They grew up cooking seasonally with their family and spent a year working farmers markets to get to know SoCal produce. She does conservation work @venturalandtrust. Learn more about Dom @dom_madz.
The goal of the Community Outreach Opportunity Kitchen (COOK) is to help people nourish their bodies while sourcing ingredients responsibly and strengthening local food systems. We strive to emphasize the importance of intuition and connection through food. Where gathering for a meal is always met with intention and a holistic approach to mind, body, and spirit.
